Trine's LightningTimer
A little utility that measures how far away any sound source is, and is handy in a thunderstorm or on New Year's Eve (measuring distance to the rockets).
EASY
- click when you see the flash
- click again when you hear the thunder
- get precise distance
GENERAL INFO
Uses a precise algorithm that takes into account the air temperature (sound travels faster through air when it is warmer).
The applicaiton is fast and responsive, has nice graphics, and uses theming of your phone (including the tile).
The application supports toombstoning, and in addition also remembers the last measurements you have done, regardless of how you exited the application.
The application supports both US (feet/miles/Fahrenheit) and metric (meters/km/Celsius) systems.
As of august 2011 the application is free, and also does not have any ads. The app is fast and stable.
As all my apps, it has both english and norwegian language built-in.
FUNCTIONALITY
- records distance to sound sources accurately using only time and temperature
- see closest or last recordings
- fast and responsive
- simple but effective animations
- utilizes theming on phone (background and accent)
- multitasks and supports toombstoning
- did we mention it is "truly free" (no ads) ;)
HOW CAN I GET IT TO MY WINDOWS PHONE?
The application is available in Zune Marketplace and is free and without any ads. Click image to the right, to go directly to the applications page in Zune Marketplace.
