Windows Marketplace for Mobile

Windows Marketplace for Mobile
Windows Marketplace for Mobile (or Marketplace for short) is simply put “Microsofts version of Apples AppStore”. It is both an webpage you can access from your PC, and an application for you Windows Phone.

Got WM 6.5 or later…then you got Marketplace
If your phone has Windows Mobile 6.5 or later, Marketplace is preinstalled on your phone, and you should find a program called “Marketplace” in the programlist on your phone.

Step-by-step instructions for getting started with Marketplace

1. Installing
If your phone do not have Marketplace preinstalled, you can install it yourself in several different ways.

You can get a SMS with an installationlink by going to this webpage.
Or you can open this this mobile friendly webpage directly on your phone, and install from there.
Or you can download the CAB (installationfile) directly with this link: http://tinyurl.com/38djtxq

2. Create an account
To be able to download or buy applications in Marketplace, you need to be signed in. You sign in with a Live-account. If You do not have a Live-account, you can create one in Marketplace, either from Marketpace webpage, or in the mobile client you installed in step 1.

Congratulations, you can now download and install free applications on Marketplace (like Trine-i-Farta)

3. Add creditcard to the account
In some countries you can buy applications without adding a creditcardnumber to your account, then you will be billed through your phonebill. In most countries however, you will have to add a creditcard to your account.

Adding a creditcard you must do from the Marketpace webpage (we have not found anyway to do this from the cellphoneclient of Marketplace). You add your creditcard under “Accountsettings” (menubar at top of Marketplace webpage). You only need to do this once.

4. Now you can buy applications
You can now finally buy applications, both in Marketplace on your phone or the webversion of Marketplace! :)
